Efficiency and productivity in the office can only be achieved if Supervisors have a clear and detailed understanding of procedures, systems and the office technology

This programme provides students with the knowledge that they will ultimately require for the efficient supervision of office staff, systems and procedures. The programme provides the essential management knowledge required by those who will ultimately assume positions as Office Managers.

Office Managers are involved in and responsible for a wide range of activities. Their responsibilities include determining policy, setting targets and budges, employing and controlling staff and ensuring that the highest level of service is provided to customers and other departments within the organization.


1 – The programme is designed for those school leavers who will commence their careers as clerical or general office staff but who wish eventually to become Supervisors or Office Mangers. It provides the foundation knowledge required by most employers and the range of subjects widens the employment opportunities for those undertaking the programme.

2 – The Programme is designed for those who will ultimately seek positions as Office managers and provides students with the knowledge necessary for the effective management and administration of staff and Resources.

Entry Criteria

o Successful completion of Higher Secondary Education OR
o Attainment of a Level 4 qualification in a related field OR
o Attainment of a Level 4 Foundation Study Program approved for the specific Diploma program.
o 20 years old, completion of a Level 4 qualification (unrelated), and successful completion of an MQA approved University Preparation Program OR
o 20 years old, completion of secondary school, 2 years of relevant work experience, and successful completion of a MQA approved University Preparation Program. (University Preparation Program can also be conducted at FEC simultaneous to your Diploma program or before program commencement)
